Bahrain GP just ended and there has been a lot of fun.

At the start of the race Leclerc, who started on mediums, lost two positions to George Russell and Norris, who started on softs, slipping back to P4. Also Antonelli lost two positions, getting pushed back to P7. However he took back a position from Sainz, getting in P6 on lap 5 with a great dive.  Norris made a false start, so he immediately got a 5 seconds penalty. He started to push in order to pass Russell. Hamilton, who did not gain any position, complained about poor grip on mediums. Gasly lost a position at the start because of Norris’ fast start and got back in P5. On lap 9 Hamilton started an incredible fight with Sainz, which ended with the British driver taking P8. This fight allowed Yuki to get closer and to pass Sainz.

Norris pitted on lap 11, serving his penalty and changing his tyres for new mediums. also Max pitted but for hard tyres. He had a slow pitstop and lost a lot of time. Russell pitted on lap 13, changing to new mediums. Piastri pitted on lap 14 for mediums and started to catch on the two ferraris, which did not pit until at the end of lap 17, doing a double pitstop. with this pit Leclerc got back to P4 and Hamilton got back to P11. However, the 7 times world champion immediately got P10 from Yuki. Antonelli with his stop crawled back in the middle of the grid but he got P7 from Max with a great cross-over in T4 on lap 20. Max couldn’t resist with his hard tyres, which were not as fast as expected. On lap 22 Hamilton passed Max, taking P8 from him. Leclerc started to gain on Norris on lap 22, getting closer. He tried an attack in T1 on lap 23 but Norris did a crossover and resisted. However the monegasque driver passed on lap 25 with a dive from the outside in T4. On the same lap Hamilton passed the Italian driver of Mercedes in T1. A lap later Hamilton took P6 from Ocon in T1.

Verstappen pitted again on lap 27 and again he made a slow stop, crawling back to the last place of the grid. Antonelli pitted on lap 28 for new softs, starting to push. On lap 32, because of some debris on the track that came from the fights in the back safety came out and most of the drivers pitted for new tyres. Mercedes pitted for soft tyres, an audacious move from the silver team, as Russell said to the radio. Ferrari instead pitted for hard tyres. Also Mclaren pitted for new mediums. At the restart a great fight started between the two Ferraris and Norris, who fought trying to get P3. However Leclerc fought hard in order to keep it. Norris passed Hamilton out of the track during the fight, so he had to give back P4 to the Ferrari driver. However, the papaya driver took back the position soon after.

Thanks to the restart Max made an incredible comeback, passing from the back of the grid to P6. Also a great 4 fight started between Yuki, Bearman, Albon and Antonelli, putting on a show in the middle of the grid. Hamilton started to suffer on Hard tyres and lost a lot of time from Norris, who started to catch on lap 44. Leclerc tried to resist using Russell’s slipstream. The Mercedes British driver had a problem with DRS. Sainz got a big damage to his car and also got a big penalty so he retired before the end of the race. On lap 46 Norris tried to overtake in T1 but Leclerc put on a great defense by moving at the last second, causing Norris to make a mistake. He tried again on lap 49 but again Leclerc defended well. Finally Norris passed Charles in T4 on lap 52.

The race ended with a great win for Piastri, Who never did a mistake along all the race. Great effort by Ferrari, which did a great P4-P5, a good result that showes that the upgrades where done well. Bad race for Red Bull, which ends in P6 and P9, showing that they have a lot of work to do. A mixed race full of emotions, a type of race we hope to see again in the future.
