The fourth round of the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship took place in Sakhir, Bahrain. Fortunately for the fans, the race was very entertaining: let’s go through every single performance with our Driver Ratings.

Piastri dominates, disappointment for Verstappen

Piastri 10: Total domination, never put a foot wrong during the whole weekend. He’s proving to be quite a tough challenger for the WDC.

Russell 9.5: Brilliant driving to get P2 in the race, after the penalty that dropped him to P3 on the grid.

Norris 7.5: A good result overall, as he’s able to retain the Championship lead, but just too many mistakes. That 5 second penalty for positioning his car out of the grid box cost him P2, a bad qualifying cost him the win.

Leclerc 8.5: Drove his heart out on the track to try to get his (and Ferrari’s) first podium of the year, but unfortunately he just didn’t quite have enough.

Hamilton 6: A tough qualifying down in P9, but a good comeback to P5 on Sunday. He shouldn’t have been “Driver Of The Day” though.

Verstappen 7: Struggles badly to tame his Red Bull, but gets the maximum he could once again.

Gasly 10: Stellar performance, scoring Alpine’s first points of 2025. Nothing else to say.

Ocon 8.5: After the accident in Q2, he came back impressively in the race.

Tsunoda 7: Finally the second Red Bull driver is in the points. All things considered, a very good weekend. Not even that far from Max…

Bearman 9: Qualifying saw him starting in last place on Sunday, but he still managed to score a point. This guy is a very, very good talent.

Piastri got the better of Norris at Bahrain, as Verstappen had his first big struggles of the year: let's go over our Driver Ratings.

Albon 6: He was shafted in qualifying, because of a mistake from the FIA. A good drive through the field in the race, but not quite the top-10 finish he was looking for.

Hadjar 5.5: First anonymous weekend for him, but still clear of teammate Lawson.

Doohan 5.5: He was looking very good for a points finish, until he made a couple of mistakes. It’s unfortunate since he’s shown potential at times throughout the weekend, he just needs to put it all together.

Alonso 6: His steering wheel falling off on Friday was the highlight of his race weekend, and that speaks volumes about Aston Martin…

Lawson 4: Not only isn’t he fast, but gets a couple of really avoidable penalties. The guy is struggling badly.

Stroll 4.5: There’s literally nothing to say about his performance at Bahrain.

Bortoleto 5.5: The Sauber just is what it is, at least he kept it clean.

Sainz 5.5: He got into Q3 for the first time this year, out-qualifying Albon convincingly. His race was very messy from the beginning though, not fighting smartly against faster cars. The damage that came from contact with Tsunoda was just the cherry on top of the cake…

Hulkenberg 6: Got disqualified because of too much skid wear, but his weekend was still quite anonymous. At least he out-performed Bortoleto, as he should because of his experience.

Formula 1 will be back in Saudi Arabia later this week, for the last round of the triple-header. Who will come out on top in Jeddah? We’ll have to wait and see, but one thing’s for sure: this season has still got the potential to be quite fascinating.
